Article 133: Establishment of a minimum wage

The minimum wage is fixed simultaneously in the whole territory of the Russian Federation by federal law and cannot be lower than the subsistence minimum of the working population. The minimum wage established by federal law is ensured by: federal-funded organizations — federal budget, extra-budgetary funds and from business and other income-generating activities; organizations financed from the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation — from the budgets of the sub-units the Russian Federation, extrabudgetary funds, as well as funds derived from business and other income-generating activities; organizations financed from local budgets, Local budgets, extra-budgetary funds, as well as funds derived from business and other income-generating activities; other employers from their own funds. The wages of an employee who has fully worked the working time during this period and who has complied with the labour standards (dutys of work) may not be lower than the minimum wage. The fourth has been in force since 1 September 2007.
