Article 277. Assault on the life of a public figure or public figure

Assault on the life of a public figure or public figure for the purpose of terminating his or her public or other political activities or in revenge for such activities — punishment shall be sentenced to 12 to 20 years ' imprisonment with a restriction of up to two years ' imprisonment, either life imprisonment or the death penalty.
