Article 166: Unlawful acquisition of a motor vehicle or other vehicle without the purpose of theft

1. Unlawful acquisition of a motor vehicle or other vehicle without purpose of theft(s) shall be punishable by a fine of up to one hundred and twenty thousand roubles or by a salary or other penalty until: of up to one year, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or forced labour for up to five years, or arrest for up to six months, or deprivation of liberty 2. The same act committed by: (a) a group of persons by prior conspiracy; (b) has ceased to be effective; (c) with the use of violence not dangerous to life or health or with the threat of use shall be punished by a fine of up to 200,000 roubles or by a fine of up to 18 months ' wages or other income, or by a forced slave. 3. Acts under the first-instance article committed by an organized group or causing a particularly serious offence 4. The acts referred to in paragraphs 1 to 3 of this article, committed with the use of violence dangerous to life, shall be punishable by up to 10 years ' imprisonment. The penalty shall be imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 years.
