Article 572. Donation contract

1. Under the gift contract, one party(s) is free of charge or undertakes to transfer to the other party(s) the property or property right(s) relating to itself or to a third party. a person either releases or undertakes to release the person from his or her property obligation to himself or to a third person. The rules of article 170, paragraph 2, of the present Code apply to such a contract. to be free from the duty of property (promise of gift) is recognized by the gift contract and binds the promiser if the promise is made in an appropriate form (art. 574, para. 2) and is clearly stated in An expression of intent to hand over items or rights to a particular person in the future, or to relieve him of his property obligations. 3. A treaty providing for the transfer of a gift to a gift given after the death of the giver is null and void. This kind of gift is subject to the rules of civil law on inheritance.
