Article 708. Work hours

1. The contract shall specify the initial and the deadline for the completion of the work. (As agreed between the parties, the contract may also provide for the completion of individual phases of the work.) Unless otherwise established by law, other legal acts or contractual arrangements, the contractor is liable for the breach of both the initial and the final and intermediate periods. 2. The initial, final and intermediate dates specified in the contract may be modified in the cases and in the manner provided for in the contract. 3. Article 405, paragraph 2, of the present Code gives rise to the consequences of late performance when the deadline for completion of work is exceeded, as well as other contractual deadlines.
