Article 884: Notice of non-payment of the cheque

The holder is required to notify his indossant and the teller of the non-payment within two working days following the day of the protest or the equivalent act. The two working days following the day of receipt of the notification shall be communicated to his indo-sententee the notification received by him. He shall not lose his rights during the prescribed period, nor shall he make amends for any loss which may result from the failure to pay the cheque; and the amount of damages shall not exceed the amount of the cheque.
