Article 1224: The law to be applied to inheritance relations

1. The relationship of succession shall be determined by the law of the country in which the heir was last resident, unless otherwise provided in this article. 2. A person ' s ability to acquire real property, which is registered in the State register in the Russian Federation, is governed by the law of the country where the property is located. The creation and cancellation of a will, including in respect of immovable property, as well as the form of such a will or an act thereof, shall be determined by the law of the country where the testator was resident in m. However, a will or its cancellation may not be declared null and void by reason of non-compliance with the form if it satisfies the requirements of the right of the site.
