Article 1498: Formal examination of the application for a trademark

1. Formal examination of the application for a trademark shall take place within one month of its submission to the federal intellectual property authority. An examination of the application for the trademark shall verify the existence of the required documents of the application and their conformity with the required requirements. The Federal Government ' s intellectual property authority shall notify the applicant of the outcome of the formal examination. At the same time as the notification of the positive result of the formal examination of the application, the applicant shall be informed of the date of application established in accordance with article 1492, paragraph 8, of the present Code.
