Article 1193: Public policy clause

A foreign law rule to be applied in accordance with the rules of this section shall not, in exceptional cases, apply where the consequences of its application would be manifestly contrary to the principles of international law. The procedure (public policy) of the Russian Federation, taking into account the nature of the relations complicated by the foreign element, shall apply, if necessary, the relevant rule of Russian rights. a. Refusal to apply a foreign law cannot be based solely on the difference between the legal, political or economic system of the foreign State concerned and that of the foreign State concerned. or economic system of the Russian Federation.
