Article 1282: Transfer of work to the public domain

1. Once the exclusive right has ceased to exist, the work of science, literature or art, whether published or not, shall be transferred to the public domain. A person who has entered the public domain may freely be used by any person without his or her consent or permission and without payment of copyright. 3. An unpublicized work may be made public by any person unless the publication is contrary to the will of the author. The rights of a citizen who has legally published such a work shall be determined in accordance with 71 of the present Code.
