Article 240: Rebellion of uneconomicized cultural property

In cases where the owner of cultural property designated by law as a particularly valuable and protected State is deprived of such property, which threatens to lose his or her knowledge Acquiescences, such property may be seized by a court of law from the owner by means of a buy-in by the State or a sale from a public tender; when the property is purchased, the owner shall be reimbursed for the value of the property. In the case of sale from public tender, the sum of the sale shall be transferred to the owner, less the cost of the tender, and in the case of a dispute, to the owner. The value of the restoration work in respect of the cultural heritage object or the cost of the measures necessary to preserve the archaeological heritage site referred to in article 40 of the Federal Act Act No. 73-FZ of 25 June 2002 on objects of cultural heritage (memorials of history and culture) of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
