Article 338: Ownership of the subject of bail

1. The property held shall be retained by the pledgeor unless otherwise provided for in this Code, by another law or by a contract. 2. The subject matter of the pledge may be kept by the pledgeor under lock and seal. The deposit may be kept at the pledge holder ' s place of lien, with security marks (hard bail). or to use a third person is deemed to have been left behind by the pledgeor.
