Article 425: Effect of a treaty

1. The treaty shall enter into force and become binding on the parties upon its conclusion. 2. The parties may determine that the terms of the treaty they have concluded apply to their relations arising prior to the conclusion of the treaty. 3. The law or treaty may provide that the termination of the contract shall not result in the conclusion of a contract, unless otherwise established by law or in the substance of the relationship concerned. A treaty which does not contain such a condition shall be recognized as in force until such time as the performance of the parties is terminated. 4. The termination of a contract does not relieve the parties of responsibility for its breach.
