Article 491. Maintenance of ownership of the seller

In cases where the contract of sale provides that ownership of the goods handed over to the buyer is retained by the seller until payment of the goods or other circumstances arise, the buyer is not entitled to dispose of or dispose of the goods in any other manner prior to the transfer of ownership, unless otherwise provided by law or contract or derived from the purpose and characteristics of the goods. In cases where, within the time period stipulated by the contract, the goods transferred will not be paid for or other circumstances in which ownership is transferred to the buyer, the seller is entitled to demand to return the goods from the buyer, unless otherwise provided in the contract.
