Article 885: Consequences of non-payment of the cheque

1. In the event that the payer refuses to pay the cheque, the Czech holder may, at his choice, sue one, more or all of the persons liable for the cheque (feeder, avalists, indossants) who are liable for the payment of the cheque. 2. The holder shall be entitled to claim from the said persons the amount of the cheque, his or her costs of payment and interest in accordance with paragraph 1 (c) of the Convention. Article 395 of the present Code: The same right shall be exercised by the person liable for the cheque after having paid the cheque. 3 The claim of the Czech holder against the persons referred to in paragraph 1 of this article may be presented In the six-month period following the end of the period for the presentation of the cheque to be paid, the statutory claims of the persons liable to each other shall be settled at the end of the six-month period following the date on which the claim is made.
