Article 257. Leave for employees who have adopted a child

Workers who adopt a child are granted leave from the day of adoption until the expiry of 70 calendar days from the date of birth of the adopted child and, at the same time, two or more adoptions. At the request of the employees who have adopted a child, they are entitled to leave to care for the child until they reach the age of three. The adoption of a child (children) by both spouses shall be granted to one of the spouses at their discretion. and the first article, maternity leave shall be granted for the period from the day of the adoption of the child to the expiry of 70 calendar days and, with the simultaneous adoption of two or more children — 110 calendar days from the date of their birth; the procedure for granting these leave, ensuring that the confidentiality of adoption is preserved, is established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
