Article 133: Indistinguishables

1. A thing that cannot be divided in kind without destruction, damage or alteration of its purpose and which is in circulation as a single object of rights in a matter of property is an indivisible thing in the same way. 2. Replacement of parts of an indivisible thing by other constituent parts does not give rise to another thing if the essential properties of the thing are retained 3. A penalty may be imposed on an indivisible item only as a whole, unless it is established by law or by a judicial act that it is possible to single out part of the property, including for the purpose of selling it. 4. Relations concerning ownership of an indivisible property are governed by the rules of chapter 16, articles 11 to 68 of the present Code.
