Article 1523: Experition of an application for geographical designation and modification of the application documents

1. The application for geographical designation shall be evaluated by the Federal Executive Authority on Intellectual Property. 2. At the time of the examination of the application for geographical designation by the federal authority, The intellectual property authorities have the right to request additional material from the applicant, without which it is not possible to carry out the examination. The applicant is entitled to a period of three months from the date of the request by the Federal Intellectual Property Authority. to be extended for a maximum period of six months, provided that the request was received before the deadline for reply to the request. The application is considered to have been withdrawn on the basis of a decision of the Federal Executive on Intellectual Property.
