Article 683: Duration of the contract for the employment of a dwelling

1. A contract for the employment of a dwelling shall be concluded for a period not exceeding five years; if the contract does not specify a period of five years, the contract shall be deemed to have been concluded. For a period of up to one year (short-term employment), the rules laid down in article 677, paragraph 2, articles 68.684 to 686 are not applicable by the fourth paragraph of article 687, paragraph 2, of the present Code if: The treaty does not provide otherwise.
